:: And the pianist, Serouj Kradjian - another Armenian Canadian - played capably and stylishly... proved smooth and virtuosic. He was exceptionally sensitive in his phrasing. And, all through this set - as all through the recital - Mr. Kradjian showed no little technique. But he wears his technique lightly, which is how technique should be worn.
- Jay Nordlinger, NEW YORK SUN

:: Pianistic hurricane! …without a doubt, the best part of the evening was the Rachmaninov in the second half of the program, where we could truly appreciate the talent of Kradjian not only as a virtuoso pianist, but as a complete artist - one who does not only remain in fireworks of the virtuosity, but is able to show the beauty of the lyrical and poetic sections.
- LA RIOJA, Spain (November 2007)

:: The highlight of the richly exotic program, however, both in freshness and worth, was a set of seven Armenian folk songs collected by Reverend Gomidas and arranged by Kradjian for soprano, piano, violin, clarinet and cello. The songs were having their Canadian premiere. Kradjian's arrangements were classy and strikingly effectiv, while Bayrakdarian's singing of them was ravishing.
On a single hearing, I have no hesitation in asserting that this set of songs,in these arrangements, is as vivid and enticing as the famous Auvergne folk song arrangements of Joseph Canteloube…
Valdepenas,Bowman and Kradjian played the Khachaturian Trio superbly and shone especiallyin the lively rhythms of the finale.
The Babadjanian Trio was the other surprise of the evening: a major work for the classic piano trio, which seems not yet to have found its niche in the repertoire, though it dates from 1952. Bowman, Hetherington and Kradjian played it magnificently…
- Ken Winters, THE GLOBE AND MAIL (May 2007)

:: In this disc we emerge ourselves in the style of hypnotic instrumentalist, with clean fingering, imaginative phrasing and very appealing sound... The rhythm is subject to a tight but elegant rubato.
- EL MUNDO, Spain (November, 2005)

:: Serouj Kradjian's agility at the piano…
- Anne Midgette, NEW YORK TIMES (February, 2005)

:: Already in its name "Douze Etudes d'execution transcendantes" we can know the extent of their difficulty.Whoever plays one or two in concert is celebrated as a virtuoso. Serouj Kradjian created a firework of Piano acrobatic by playing all of them...In some of the lyrical pieces of the concert "Ricordanza" and "Harmonies du Soir" Kradjian proved to have a deep insight of form and vision...
- WESTDEUTSCHE ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG, Germany

:: An experience to remember......A technique to burn... the performers brought the right touch of Gallic irony to Ravel's Sonata. The apparent diffidence erupted into a strong climax in the "Blues" movement, where the unexpected darkness and bite, especially in Kradjian's playing, brought out interesting connections with the composer's Concerto for Left Hand. ... Kradjian pulled all the stops in Arno Babadjanian's massive "Poeme for piano".
- GLOBE AND MAIL, Canada

:: Pianist-composer Serouj Kradjian, was an unusually proficient and sophisticated accompanist.
- Paul Horsley, KANSAS CITY STAR

:: Spain seemed to exert an unusual pull on Ms. Bayrakdarian and Mr. Kradjian. Two of the Viardot songs, ''Madrid'' and ''Havanaise,'' emphasized the composer's Spanish roots and drew on flamenco figuration as fully as the Obradors songs. On the other hand, in his pastel-hued performance of Granados's ''Quejas o la maja y el ruiseñor,'' from ''Goyescas,'' Mr. Kradjian highlighted the stylistic connections between Granados and his French contemporary Ravel.
- Alan Kozinn, NEW YORK TIMES

Cristallino virtuosismo!
- IL GAZZETTINO, Italy

:: ...both prodigious and electrifying.
- DIARIO DE CORDOBA, Spain

:: Kradjian penetra en el misterio de los estudios de Franz Liszt dotando a cada uno de su propia fragancia, revelando en cada pincelada una extraordinaria mezcla de intuicion y sensibilidad.
- MELOMANO, Spain

::

:: ....Genius interpret of Franz Liszt... Franz Liszt's Sonata, a work full of longing and pain, is at the core of the Romantic piano repertoire.This is also Kradjian's world. As if this music is his own music, he did not play a sultry 19th century work, but a passionate Ballade, of which the depth of the feelings would touch the people of the 21st century.This is possible only when the interpret is in total command of the technical difficulties.Kradjian did not have a problem with that.
- WESTDEUTSCHE ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG, Germany

:: The recording is excellent, the balance between the piano and violin approaching the ideal. Both partners are evidently passionately committed to this music, playing with something approaching ferocity or vehemence, which I take to be their variety of intensity.
- INTERNATIONAL RECORD REVIEW, United Kingdom

:: In the Sonata No. 1,the second movement flower piece, usually so dreamy, is off kilter and eccentric, an oddly effective echo of "Prophetic Bird". All gracefulness is left to the final measures in this interestingly uncommon interpretation... Coherence is tough to maintain in the bloated first movement of the Sonata No. 2, with some of Schumann's most confused rhythmic notation, but Malikian and Kradjian wisely juice the tempo and ease into the coda with knowing experience...The Sonata No. 3 redeems things ... the musicians approach a much more, and much needed, bravura, exciting approach. The Scherzo is played second, as usual, and there is a really wonderful touch at the end, where the sweeping arpeggios from the piano are pedalled directly into the Intermezzo. Magical!
- FANFARE , United Kingdom

:: ...Schumann made the violin and piano equal partners, and Ara Malikian and Serouj Kradjian truly act as a team, playing these works as if they were old favorites, as they well deserve to be. Hännsler puts the icing on the cake with a vivid, vibrant recording. A must for Schumann fans, but others will enjoy it too.

:: The first two Sonatas for Violin and piano were written in 1851, and the last sonata three years later. Here we are dealing with three mature masterworks. Rightfully they are considered the most valuable chamber music works of Schumann.

This is brought out very impressively by the violinist Ara Malikian and the pianist Serouj Kradjian in the CD released by Haenssler.The mutual understanding in their interpretation is ideal, and so is the balance of sound between the two instruments.The lyric fusion is blent with the Schumannesque warmth and also the tragic disruption in the last Sonata (with the famous FAE movement) is very well played. A fantastic Schumann Disc!!
- LUXEMBURGER WORT (Luxemburg)

:: …Optimal communication and good feeling for chamber music are the two qualities which characterize this recording which combines the virtuosity and freshness of the two performers violinist Ara Malikian and Pianist Serouj Kradjian. The duo creates something very special out of these intimate romantic works. Both play very together with much attention to the narrative of the work.
- LUISTER, Netherlands

:: "Malikian and Kradjian are both Armenian. They play programmatically and dramatically, while still paying meticulous attention to the structure of the music. Malikian phrases like a singer. I can almost hear the words...and I really appreciate the emotional extremes in their playing...There is an improvisatory feeling about their playing. It sounds like they are experiencing the music for the first time, and I feel that way too, every time I listen to these two..."
